This started with a collapse.

I spent years building Cloverleaf, an assessment and team dynamics company. I was married. I had a growing business. On paper, everything was working.

Then it all fell apart. My marriage ended after nine years with someone who had borderline personality disorder. My health crashed. I was barely functioning as a person, let alone a CEO. Everything I'd been building was gone.

When I finally came up for air, I sat with one question for a long time: what do I want the next 25 years to be?

Not what's the best business opportunity. Not what's trending. What do I actually want to build that nobody else can build?

The answer was Work With Meaning.

I'd spent my whole career watching the same pattern: businesses treating relationships as an afterthought. Something that happens at happy hours and conferences. Not something you design for. Not something you measure. Not something you protect.

I wanted to build the infrastructure for a world where trust is a core competency. Where relationships are tracked and strengthened intentionally. Where AI makes all of that easier, not harder.

That's what this company is.

Rebuilding the relational fabric of business.

Work With Meaning exists to help leaders and companies operate with more trust, clarity, and intentionality.

We believe relationships are the most undervalued asset in business. We believe AI should strengthen those relationships, not replace them. And we believe the companies that win long-term are the ones that treat trust like a core competency, not a soft skill.

We're a trust company. The AI is the mechanism. The trust is the point.

Small team. High trust.

Ford Knowlton, Founder

20+ companies. Real conversations. Real lessons.

Ford has worked with 20+ companies on fractional leadership strategy and leadership circle design. Helping founders think through full-time vs. fractional leadership, build the right circle, and see where the real gaps are.

That work shaped how Work With Meaning thinks about trust, operating rhythm, and where AI can actually help. The language on this site, the offers, the approach. All of it came from real company conversations, not theory.
